GigaPets and Their ZaZoo Crazy Variants and Quirks

If you have information, photos, whatever, please reach out to me. I would love to make this as accurate as possible!

Yikes.
So I don't think anyone has ever done something like this. Even the GigaPets Wiki is kinda lackluster, so I am trying to keep a running list of all the different variants and GigaPets that I can find. There are some interesting quirks with especially vintage GigaPets and maybe some information you would want to know before buying one.
Almost all the photos will have been scraped from online auctions. I have tried my best to source some information from people in the community. I would say that this is pretty accurate, but I am actually not much of a GigaPets collector, even if I do generally like them. I have almost NO vintage GigaPets which may be shocking to a lot of people.
I'm going to do my best to list them in chronological order, but they haven't been as meticulously documented as Tamagotchis, so especially for some of the rarer ones, the dates are super iffy.
This may grow, past what my inital scope is, and I know myself well enough to know that this will probably never be truly finished. But I hope it can be a good starting point or reference for further information.

Vintage GigaPets

Vintage GigaPets can come in [too many] different shapes. I asked Chris N in the GigaPets Discord if there were ever official or internal names for the shells. He said he couldn't remember if they did have names for the "cabinets" so for the purposes of this, I have come up with my own names. If you don't like them, please refer to this.

Vintage GigaPets Programming

So I would definitely refer to Tamapetchi's Blog Post: "The Many Programs Within Giga Pets" for a better description. However, a quick TL;DR:

  • Early GigaPets have Playmates Nano Pet programming
  • Slightly later have a cross between Playmates Nano Pet and GigaPets programming. They play like GigaPets but have Nano Pet animations and sounds
  • GigaPets Version 1 look like Verison 2 but have no discipline and different scoring systems.
  • GigaPets Version 2 is the most common program (apparently). Health, Hunger, Happiness, and Discipline determine how you care for the GigaPet.

However, she doesn't really go into which programming each of them have. I have a guess based on some very subtle context clues. So I can explain why I feel that way for each one of the devices and shells.

All the signs point to the Turkish toy manufacturer Gamze Toys is the actual company that designed these. It's not uncommon for other companies to partner with other companies that have established businesses in countries they do not sell in to sell their products, especially toy companies.
